His arrival was welcomed by YBrs. Puan Liza binti Haji Long, Deputy Director of Sarawak Marine Fisheries Department and YBrs. Tuan Jamil bin Musel, Director of Bintawa Fisheries Research Institute, Sarawak as well as officers and staff from JPLS & IPP.

His first visit was at IPP Santubong which is the centre of development of the lobster parent breed where the centre aims to produce 20,000 parents a year, 30 million rega and 2 million post larvae per round of lobster.

Later, he visited the Santubong Sea Fish Seed Production Centre (PPBIL) which focuses on the production of 1-inch and above-sized siakap fish seeds. The centre also focuses on the production and upbringing of Siakap Fish seedlings or its scientific name is Lates calcarifer. The selection of Siakap fish as the main focus of production is due to the high demand in the market as well as the production of Siakap fish seeds is easier to carry out compared to other fish species.

The Director General of Fisheries also had the opportunity to visit the Santubong Main Base and convey the mandate and advice to officers and enforcement personnel to always practice a high level of self-discipline and seriousness in carrying out their duties.
