Message from The Director
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
الحمد لله رب العلمين و به نستعين

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and Good Day.
First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the members of Johor State Department of Fisheries for their exceptional dedication to serve our stakeholders and strive to achieve the department’s Key Performance Index (KPI) despite the current challenging times of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Fisheries plays an important role in developing a sustainable fishery sector. 2020 was a challenging year when the whole world, including our beloved country, was hit by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. Not only the global health was impacted by the pandemic, but most of the economic sectors including fisheries and fishery-based sectors were negatively affected as well. The year 2021 is also seen as a more challenging year and a test of patience because we are not yet completely free from the threat of COVID-19 contagion. Therefore, we must ensure that the fisheries sector continues to contribute to the state economy and thus the national economy.
As such, to further strengthen the role of the State Fisheries Department, various new methods, in terms of work procedures, have been adapted to address the new norms during this pandemic period. For example, the use of information technology and the Internet-of-Things (IOT) has opened up various ideas and opportunities in further improving the performance and effectiveness of the department’s services to the target group.
Finally, let us not make this Covid-19 pandemic as an excuse and limitation for us not to carry out the task entrusted to us in helping our target group. Let us mobilize our energy and unite as an organization and department that manages the fisheries sector with excellence and I am confident that the support from all DOF Johor staff will make the Department of Fisheries a leading department in the national fisheries sector.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيْقُ والهِدَايَةُ وَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
