DOF Standards are developed in accordance with SIRIM standardisation procedures, whichare in line with international practises that ensure appropriate notification of work programmes and participation of interested parties. As a standards development organisation, SIRIM Berhad has extensive expertise in standards research and consultancy, which helps industries and businesses meet local and international requirements and practices.
DOF Standards are the result of DOF initiatives as a fisheries regulatory body.industries through collaboration with SIRIM. The standards provide requirements,
specifications, guidelines, or characteristics that can be used to ensure that materials, products, processes, and services are fit for their purpose.
DOF Standards are developed through consensus by established committees, which consist ofexperts in the subject matter. The use of DOF standards is voluntary, and it is open foradoption by regulators, government agencies, associations, industries, professional bodies,etc.
