Ybhg. Dato’ Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia paid a working visit to Puri Agro Johan Sdn. Bhd. located in Serian, Sarawak.
The company, owned by Mr. Puri A/L Johan, has been operating since 2007 which is a company that breeds fish of the Sarawak Empurau species (Tor Tambroides).
The parent of Empurau is bred from the native parent of Empurau Sarawak from the major rivers in Sarawak which is recognised by IFRPC Tarat and the Sarawak Agriculture Department.
The Sarawak Empurau Fish (Tor Tambroides) is a high-value fish, also known as the ‘King’ of the Sarawak River fish.
Also present were Puan Liza Binti Long, Deputy Director of Marine Fisheries Sarawak, Tuan Jamil bin Musel Director of Bintawa Fisheries Research Institute, Sarawak as well as officers and staff.
