Dato’ Adnan bin Hussain, the Director General of Fisheries was present to visit the Fisheries Departments of open ground at the North Zone People’s MADANI Program in Sungai Nibong, Penang which will run for 3 days from 3 to 5 May 2024.
Open ground of the Malaysian Fisheries Department at the Road to MAHA 2024 pavilion showcased the innovation of sea leech traps that can prevent sea leeches from attacking marine fish in cages.
This innovation has won the 2021 Commonwealth Secretary General Innovation for Sustainable Development Award.
The public is invited to come to the Fisheries booth to witness the exhibition of live marine fish (golden size, 2 kg) and the latest exhibition of waterless aquariums and a demonstration of sea leech traps.
