The Department of Fisheries Malaysia represented by En. Nazri bin Ishak, Director of Policy and Strategic Planning Division gave a presentation on the overall picture of the department’s role in ensuring food adequacy and safety through the National Agrofood Asar (DAN 2.0) at the National Convention on Agricultural and Food Engineering (NAFEC) 2024 at Unimap, Perlis.
The 7th edition of the convention was organised by the Association of Agricultural and Food Engineers Malaysia (MSAE) with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) on 15 and 16 May 2024 at UniMAP, Perlis. Themed “Digital Agriculture: Driving the Sustainability Innovation of Agrofood Production”, the convention has collaborated with 14 co-organizers comprising various government agencies and public universities.
The convention successfully brought together academics, legal practitioners, industrialists and individuals in the field of agricultural and food engineering in Malaysia, with a total of 215 people involved as presenters and participants. This is to discuss the shift of paradigm in the latest technology, the needs and problems of the agricultural and food industries, sharing the good practices of agriculture and food as well as proposed legal improvements especially for agricultural and food engineering.
Also present to represent the department were fisheries officers from the Engineering Division.
