The Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Aminuddin bin Harun officiated the handover ceremony to fishermen and mussel farmers affected by the pollution of 85 people from the Telok Kemang Fishermen’s Association.

The handover of RM34,500.00 was aimed at assisting the affected fishermen as well as easing the burden as long as they were unable to harvest mussels.

The eighth mussel sampling was taken by fisheries officers on 14 May 2024 and was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Fisheries Biosecurity Laboratory for further analysis and laboratory results expected to be 18 May 2024.

The Department of Fisheries together with the Negeri Sembilan Fishermen’s Association are still actively conducting monitoring every week starting 2 April 2024 and based on the current survey on site, fishermen and traders always adhere to the prohibition of taking, collecting and selling instructions as previously directed.

Also present, YBhg. Dato’ Muhamad Nahar bin Haji Mohd Sidek, Deputy State Secretary, YBrs. Encik Hamdan bin Mamat, Director General of LKIM, YBrs. Haji Wan Muhammad Aznan bin Abdullah, Timbalah Director General of Fisheries (Management) and state fisheries officer.
