Ybhg. Dato’ Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia received a courtesy visit from Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) led by Mr. Wirat Pothipan. CPF is an agro-industrial and food conglomerate based in Thailand.
CPF has been operating in Malaysia for 50 years. The three main sectors that are given priority are Agro Business, Aqua Business and Swine Business.
The value of investments in Malaysia at the moment:
1) Agro Business : 170 Million USD
2) Aqua Business : 132 Million USD
3) Swine Business : 41 Million USD
The purpose of this courtesy visit was to share on the latest aquaculture farming technology used in livestock farms and the spread of disease to prawns.
Ybhg. Dato’ Director General of Fisheries Malaysia appreciates the arrival of the CPF and looks forward to working together in ensuring the nation’s food security.
Also present were Puan Yeo Moi Eim, Senior Director of Biosecurity Division, Encik Roslan bin Abu Hassan, Head of Fish and Public Health Branch and Department Officers.
