Public Sector Open Data

Open data is data that can be used freely, can be shared and reused by citizens, government agencies and the private sector for a variety of purposes. The implementation of government open data can increase the transparency of government service delivery through accurate, fast and relevant data sharing as well as increase the productivity of the country’s digital economy through new industries or innovations with the involvement of citizens and the business community. It also puts Malaysia on par with other countries in digital government initiatives.

The use of data or reuse of data shall comply with the Government Open Data Use Terms 1.0.

The Malaysia Data Portal (data.gov.my) was developed as a one-service-center for the people to access and download the Government’s open data dataset online.
