1 | Targeted Research on Indian mackerel in Malaysia |
Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand are working together through the Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystem (BOBLME) Project (GCP/RAS/236/GEF) towards a coordinated programme of action designed to improve the lives of the coastal populations through improved regional management of the Bay of Bengal environment and its fisheries. The BOBLME project on Indian mackerel in Malaysia was funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) – GCP/RAS/236/GEF and amount to MYR111,225 (Malaysian Ringgit One hundred eleven thousand two hundred fifty five only). It commence on January 2013. The project comprised of two (2) components that is (i) population structure of Indian mackerel along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, and (ii) spawning areas and seasons of Indian mackerel along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. |
