YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, officiated the Sungai Jerneh myKP Cake and Aquaculture Flavours Cooking Demonstration at the Kampung Sungai Jerneh Fish Estate, Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan.
The programme, which received cooperation from government and private agencies, managed to attract 400 visitors and participants from the local community.
The Fish Estate operated by myKP Sungai Jerneh is one of the initiatives developed by DOF to increase the rate of freshwater fish production, especially in abandoned land areas that have the potential to be developed under the supervision of a community with the support of fish fry supply from DOF.
At the same programme, a cura cheque from DOF amounting to RM 117,180.00 was also presented to seven farmers and fishermen in Tampin district, Negeri Sembilan.
Also present, YBhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia, YB Dato’ Mohd Isam bin Hj Mohd Isa, Member of Parliament for Tampin, YB Tuan Suhaimizan Bizar, Member of the Gemencheh State Legislative Assembly (DUN) and Mr. Daing Muhamad Rahimi bin Abd Hamid, Deputy Land Administrator, Tampin District and Land Office.
