Ybhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia visited Ironwood Shipyard Sdn. Bhd. in Bintawa, Kuching, Sarawak to see firsthand the maintenance and repair work of boats/vessels P40, P42, P43 and P302 belonging to the Department of Fisheries Malaysia and subsequently signed the service agreement with Universal Engineering Works Company.
The purpose of Maintenance and Repair is to increase the capability of the elements through increasing the capacity of the main engine from 810 horsepower to 1000 horsepower and ensuring the preparedness of the elements to guard the waters of Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
Also present at the session were Mr. Norazri bin Ismail, Senior Deputy Director of Engineering Division, Mrs. Liza binti Haji Long, Deputy Director of the Sarawak Marine Fisheries Department and officers from the Sarawak Marine Fisheries Headquarters and the Sarawak Marine Fisheries Department and representatives from the company.
