YBhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain, Director-General of Fisheries Malaysia, attended the Stakeholder Engagement Session with the Fishing Community of the West Coast Zone at the Dato’ Lope Hashim Hall, Bagan Datuk, Perak, organized by the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM). This engagement session aimed to share views and discuss emerging issues to ensure the development of the sector aligns with the modernization of the fisheries industry.
The engagement session, involving the fishing community from Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, and Perak, was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM), and witnessed by YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia 1 and Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk.
YBhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain was also appointed as a panelist for this engagement session alongside YBhg. Datuk Seri Isham bin Ishak, Secretary-General of KPKM, and YBrs. Encik Hamdan bin Mamat, Director-General of LKIM.
Also present at this engagement session were YBrs. Encik Ruzaidi bin Mamat, Senior Director of the Capture Fisheries Resources Division, Tuan Haji Mohd Ghazali bin A. Manap, Director of Fisheries in Perak, Puan Noraisyah Binti Abu Bakar, Director of Fisheries in Selangor, Encik Kasim Bin Tawe, Director of Fisheries in Negeri Sembilan, as well as officers and staff from the Department of Fisheries Malaysia.
