Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Malaysia, officiated the Group Strengthening and Transformation Programme, Engagement with the Director General of Fisheries Malaysia & Aquaculture Rasa-rasa of the Pahang State Fisheries Department at Dewan Permata Camar, Kuantan.

In his speech, he said the Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOF) is focusing on producing high-quality, market-oriented, and safe aquaculture through myGAP certification. This measure ensures that the country’s fishery products comply with international safety and quality standards. For example, 150,000 white prawns have been given to farmers in Kampung Cempaka, along with training and technological support to increase productivity.

In addition, DOF also took proactive steps in empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the fisheries sector. From 2022 to 2024, the Department has channelled equipment input assistance worth RM80,000 to four myAgropreneur entrepreneurs.
