The fish farming project in a floating cage system in Lake To’ Uban, Pasir Mas started in 2010 with the species being farmed are Catfish, Patin and Tilapia. Until 2023 there will be a total of 79 breeders from the surrounding population who are registered with the department.

The fish farming project in Lake To ‘Uban is being worked on in 3 locations, namely Lake To Uban Jetty, Rong Chenok and Sungai Rasal.

Aquaculture fish production in To Uban Lake in 2022 amounts to 157 metric tons with a value of RM0.928 million. Total production in 2023 is 192 metric tons.

Today YBrs. Tuan Haji Bohari bin Haji Leng Deputy Director General of Fisheries (Development) visited the Livestock Project in Rong Chenok which has 15 breeders and 112 cages including 40 galvanized iron cages loaned by the Malaysian Fisheries Department. The project here has also received assistance under the 2021 Aquaculture Industry Synergy from the Malaysian Fisheries Department.

Also present in this visit Dr. Erniyta binti Osman Kelantan State Fisheries Director and Kelantan State Fisheries Office Staff.
