MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING SESSION BETWEEN FISHERIES DEPARTMENT AND UNDERWATER WORLD LANGKAWI SDN BHD
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Malaysian Department of Fisheries (DOF) and Underwater World Langkawi Sdn. Bhd. (UWL) was completed today at Underwater World Langkawi, Kedah for a network of understanding for research, conservation and breeding activities involving seahorse and ingu fish species.
This MOU also involves the development of a bilateral exchange program covering various aspects in terms of research, facilities, and joint publications.
Through this MOU, the Institute of Fisheries Research (IPP) Batu Maung, Penang under the DOF will plan and carry out the transfer of breeding technology for seahorses and ingu fish to the UWL facility for a period of two years while the UWL will provide facility facilities involving the development of tanks and supervision of the marine life throughout the duration of the MOU.
The signing ceremony of this Memorandum of Understanding was completed by YBhg Dato Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries and YBrs. Mr. Wan Husaini bin Wan Ab Rahman, General Manager of UWL, witnessed by YBrs. Dr. Azhar bin Hamzah Senior Director, Fisheries Research Institute (IPP) and Ms. Nor Azaniza Azahash Group Financial Officer (GFC) Eden Group.
Also present, Mr. Nazri bin Ishak, Director of Policy and Strategic Planning Division, Mr. Pang anak Nyukang, Kedah State Fisheries Director and Kedah State Fisheries Officers.
