Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation together with YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad Bin Sabu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security chaired the Executive Committee Meeting on the National Food Security Policy this morning.
The meeting discussed the focus of the country’s agriculture sector to strengthen food supply security as well as increase the competitiveness of the agrofood sub-sector through the promotion of smart agriculture across all sectors. These initiatives involve empowering the adoption of technology, attracting new talents, technology providers, as well as expanding the size of farms/livestock to increase local production.
The issue of food security requires the cooperation of all parties, from the Government, entrepreneurs, the private sector, academia, the community to consumers. Each of us has an important role to play in ensuring that the country’s food supply is always secure.
Also present at the meeting were YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, YBhg. Datuk Seri Isham Bin Ishak, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, YBhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan Bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia, as well as the top management of the ministry.
