Ybhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia visited the Setiu Wetlands managed by the Terengganu State Park Management Council. His visit was welcomed by YM Tengku Mohd Arifin bin Tengku A. Rahman, Director of the Terengganu State Park Management Council.
The purpose of this working visit was to see the operation and management of Setiu Wetlands. The Setiu Wetlands is the largest land in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia with an area of 23,000 hectares and there are 406 species of flora, 100 species of mangroves, 10 ecosystems, 216 species of birds, 117 species of fish and 61 species of mammals.
During this visit, he was also given the opportunity to plant rhu trees as a sign of his visit.
Also present were Mr. Ruzaidi bin Mamat, Terengganu State Director of Fisheries, Puan Norlizawati binti Ibrahim, Head of Fisheries Conservation and Protection Branch, Terengganu State Fisheries Office as well as state fisheries officers and headquarters.
