The Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOF) today welcomed a courtesy visit from the Director-General of the Department of Veterans Affairs (JHEV) of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), YBhg. Mej Jen Dato’ Haji Semaon bin Haji Marjuki, at Wisma Tani.
The visit aimed to discuss the strategic direction of cooperation between JHEV ATM and DOF, particularly in enhancing the employability of ATM veterans in the fisheries sector. Among the initiatives discussed were the offering of technical courses in various programs organized by DOF nationwide, the implementation of training programs related to the fisheries industry to enhance the skills and entrepreneurship of ATM veterans, and the provision of employment opportunities for qualified ATM veterans, particularly in the aquaculture sector.
The meeting was chaired by YBhg. Dato’ Haji Azahari bin Haji Othman, Deputy Director-General of Fisheries (Development), and was also attended by senior officers from DOF.
This collaboration reflects DOF’s commitment to supporting human capital development, thus adding value to the nation’s fisheries industry.
