Ybhg. Dato’Haji Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia received a courtesy call from Dr Hjh Yatela Zainal Abidin, Executive Director General of Yayasan Sime Darby and Dr. Nicholas J Pilcher, Founder and Executive Director of MRF.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the long-term cooperation plan between the three parties and exchange views in ensuring the sustainability of the country’s fishery resources. The Director-General of Fisheries Malaysia said the department welcomes cooperation with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) or private companies in safeguarding marine biodiversity in the country.
Also present was En. Nazri bin Ishak, Director of Policy and Strategic Planning Division, En. Abdullah bi Jaafar, Pahang State Fisheries Director, as well as fisheries department officers.
