A meeting between the Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOF) and the Uzbekistan delegation comprising the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, the Government of Tashkent Province and the Government of Kashkadarya Province was held on 5 February 2025. The visit was held in conjunction with the Official Visit of His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan to Malaysia which will take place from 4 to 6 February 2025.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the potential for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of aquaculture and research. The Malaysian delegation led by YBhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain was also joined by YBrs Dr. Akma binti Ngah Hamid, Director General of Veterinary Services Department, YBhg Dato’ Haji Azahari bin Haji Othman, Senior Director of Aquaculture Division, Mrs. Yeo Moi Eim, Senior Director of Fisheries Biosecurity Division, Mr. Nazri bin Ishak, Director of Policy and Strategic Planning Division and Representatives from KPKM, while YBrs. Dr. Azhar Bin Hamzah, Senior Director of the Fisheries Research Institute was also present online.
