Ybhg. Dato’ Haji Adnan bin Hussain, Director General of Fisheries Malaysia received a courtesy call from Mrs. Noor Azariyah Mohtar, Executive Director of TIC at the Department of Fisheries Malaysia, Wisma Tani this morning.
The purpose of this visit was to discuss efforts in establishing cooperation with the department in carrying out marine conservation efforts, especially in the waters of the Mersing Islands
The Department of Fisheries Malaysia is responsible for the management and conservation of fishery resources as it is one of the most important elements for the country’s food security.
In this regard, the Department always welcomes the active involvement of Government Departments and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), the corporate community, the local community as well as individuals to be involved in environmental conservation programs and activities to increase the level of awareness among the community to jointly preserve the environment, especially in marine waters.
Also present was En. Pang Anak Nyukang, Senior Deputy Director of Fisheries Conservation and Protection Division, Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) Branch, En. Nazri bin Ishak, Director of Strategic Policy and Planning Division, En. Rahman bin Wahab, Johor State Fisheries Director, En. Azlan bin Md Nor, Head of Ecosystem Conservation and Biodiversity Branch, fisheries officers and officers from TIC.
